Privacy notice for studios

For teachers and studio owners who use Padhivu with students.

Our roles

You (the studio) decide which students to add and what to record about them, and are responsible for that information. Padhivu provides the software and handles the information on your behalf, only to run the service for you. We do not use students' information for advertising and we never sell it.

What we collect from you

• Your name, email address and the studio's name and location (India or United States, which sets the currency).
• Information about instructors you invite.
• Records you create in the app: classes, schedules, attendance, fee records, resources, events and messages.
• A record that you accepted our Terms and this notice, and the version.

What you must do before adding students

• Only add students whose parent or guardian has agreed (students under 18), or who are adults and agree for themselves. Padhivu's sign-up flow asks the account holder for this consent, records it with the date and the notice version, and you can see who has agreed in the Students page.
• Voice recordings and YouTube links need their own, separate permission. Padhivu blocks them until it has been given and removes them when it is withdrawn.
• Tell parents who at your studio can see their child's information, and respond to their requests to see, correct or delete it. Our contact is below if you need our help.
• Don't upload content you don't have the right to share, and don't use students' information for anything unrelated to teaching them.
• Batch leaders are optional. The feature is off unless you ask us to enable it for your studio and then turn it on for a group class. If you approve a student as that week's Batch leader, you are allowing them to see classmates' practice logs for that class, including photos, recordings and YouTube links. Tell families if you use it, and use it thoughtfully.

How we protect it

• Connections are encrypted, access is limited by role, and each studio's data is separated from others.
• Practice-log entries, photos and recordings are deleted after 14 days. Fee history for a finished year is deleted once all its payments are complete.
• Photos and recordings are private: only the student, your teachers and the class's approved Batch leader can open them.

Service providers

We use Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage), Vercel (hosting) and an email service. They process data only to provide those services to us.

If you leave

You can ask us to close the studio and delete its data by emailing padhivu.cs@yahoo.com. Deleted data may stay in our backups for a short time before it is overwritten.

If something goes wrong

If we learn of a security incident affecting your students' information, we will tell you promptly so you can meet any duties you have to families.
